Gretel was asked to create an open for all videos featured on the New York Times Magazine website. This is one of the directions we pitched:
An abstraction of the editorial process. We cut through cinematic crops of the New York Times logo, printed on paper in various stages. Hints of the layout and grid animate on lightly— accenting each shot, as we cut wider and wider, ultimately landing on the masthead of a completed cover.
